It has been a few days since the new year began and i'm so late in blogging about it. After the long reign of silence, i'm back here, typing down my thoughts.

While others were busy partying, welcoming the new year, 2011 began with fatigue and aching limbs for me - thanks to the deployment. Stood for 9 hours straight with barely 40 minutes break in total. Elephant stands were brought out due to the overwhelming crowd too. Sometimes i wonder, people are actually willing to put up to such a huge crowd just to watch fireworks? No thanks for me.

I welcome this new year with some positivity and optimism. I ain't gonna come up with new year resolutions 'cos i believe that we should always stay positive and have a vision throughout the year, not just plan on a list of things to achieve every time a new year approaches. What makes it worse - most people just forget about them a week later! I better myself when i have to, not having to wait for the new year. I commit to achieve something when i feel that it's logical and achievable.

With that said, i spent my New Year's Day watching "Saw VII" with Team C.E.A. It was a great movie - full of gore and bloody scenes. No doubt some of the scenes did look "sick" to me. Here's my favourite scene of the movie:

World/Asian/SEA Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championships 2010

So here's my entry for the finals, day two. After a long, tiring day one, i overslept and came late for the finals, hence missing out a lot on the junior categories. Singapore sent no juniors despite having the competition held locally. They have probably been called up for NS or held up with some other matters.

The first line-up for the senior level was the 65kg category, with five finalists. It was really enlightening to witness the first senior gold medal crowned to Singapore's Jonas Asis Tham and having the crowd rise as Majulah Singapura was being played, for the first and only time that day.

Next up was the 70kg category. Singapore sent her National Lightweight Champion who is also a friend of mine, Marcus Fam. Marcus has improved considerably well since his last two competitions this year. That guy came in really thick and well-conditioned.

The Women's World & Asian categories - Champion Jaranya Dungkam from Thailand. The moment Jaranya stepped onstage, it seemed as though everyone could only fight for the silver medal.

The finals were slightly better than the pre-judging. There was certainly more excitement when new champions were made. However, i still feel that the publicity of the event could have been better. I would only rate this event 6/10. Nonetheless, it was great meeting athletes from all over the world. Let me end this post with my favourite fitness routine for the entire show.

The International Bodybuilding and Fitness stage came right back to Singapore after four years. Yes, the last time i remembered watching an international event was in 2006. From the good old Kallang Theatre, the event found its new venue at the University Cultural Centre, NUS. It has been over a week since the event took place.

The pre-judging took place on Saturday, 2nd October. Even though response from the local community was not as overwhelming as i expected, the event went on with numerous support from our counterparts. Some 20 countries sent their finest physique athletes.

The pre-judging saw the bulk of the participants before the categories were being narrowed down to the top 6 contestants for the finals.

Lisaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Now people, this is Penpraghai Tiangngok ("Pen") from Thailand, making her debut on the Asian/International stage. This debutant lady was certainly the most eye-catching, impressive and had arguably the best presentation and feminity in this category. What pissed me (and many others) off was that she did NOT make it to the finals. As much as i suck being an armchair judge for model physique, results were pretty clear cut. You can try judging it too - it's simple. Just look the entire line-up. This is physique contest. I disagree if they say that she's too muscular for model physique. Afterall, this is a physique contest, isn't it?

Pen was awesome indeed, looking good from every angle. Why couldn't they at least give her some credits and put her in the finals?

Check out her rear view. Dry, ripped back, tight hamstrings and i fell in love with those glutes!!

So why wasn't Pen in the finals? They disqualified her for one ridiculous reason - they accused her for being a transvestite, in other words, a man. How could they pass such an insensitive accusation against a woman who has worked her ass off preparing for the contest without proper justification via genetic testing? Now.. can you see the lack of transparency in the sport?

The Women's Fitness Physique is another enjoyable item to watch. Those acrobatic movements with their own individual concepts never fail to warm the crowd in long, draggy shows like this!

While i was waiting for my friends at the end of the show, i bumped into the World Pro Champion - Mr. Wong Hong from Malaysia! What an honour!

Personally i felt that the management for the pre-judging event was not that fantastic afterall. A few discrepancies could be seen and certain procedures could be improved. Nonetheless, i have to give credits to the organising committee for selecting a good venue. The seats in UCC were rather comfortable and lighting was good. Wait out for my entry for the Finals!

Eid went well. Alhamdulillah, way better than last year just that it falls on a busy period for many this time round. Paid visits to the seniors as usual, along with the sinful indulgences throughout! Besides that, NS has certainly turned me into a carefree person. While others are ranting about how sucky it is to book in every sunday, here i am having nothing in my head the moment my shift ends. Life goes on normally, as a civilian after working hours. Working only 20 days a month now, how much better can it get?

I've been rather occupied though. Trying hard to stick to my workout regime but things can never be like before. I no longer have the same muscle density. I no longer have the same drive to train. I no longer have the same appetite. Nonetheless, i'm embracing life - every moment of it!

Yeah buddy!! 8-time Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman made his debut in Singapore. Fans flooded the Iluma Filmgarde that very evening to witness Ronnie guest-pose and also for Sylvester Stallone's movie, The Expendables. It felt like a dream, getting to see Ronnie live in person. It was indeed an honour to be able to get a photo with Big Ron. Arguably the BIGGEST man i've ever met!

I've said this a gazillion times, why i chose the sport of bodybuilding. No, i'm not gonna repeat them all over again and dictate all the positive effects of having a good physique. Here's a little something to share. The beauty of a physique always pleases the eye, agree? Let's say, five men walk into a room. A marathon runner, a soccer player, a basketball player, a tennis player and a bodybuilder. Who will get the most attention and questions?

I believe all sportsmen bust their asses to excel. I respect that. However, have you wondered why people look up upon those with good physiques? Why do movies, advertisements and stage plays like to showcase actors with good bodies? Here are some examples:

Heard of the saying "A picture paints a thousand words"? In physique art, this rule applies. Beneath the physique that you see, lies a story. A journey of struggles, pain and hardship. It's probably the only sport which hard work can be judged in just one look. So it's no doubt if these beautifully sculpted bodies get the attention or are being showcased, especially in movies where the character is a symbol of strength and power.

I'm approaching my 2nd week here in Transcom and i'm pretty contented with the way my life is now. It's way better than trainee life, obviously. More "breathing space" indeed, like being able to go home daily, getting an extra meal allowance, having a workplace that's really close to home and the best part is, being able to train four times a week! Two more weeks of training, two weeks of attachment and i'll start patrolling the public transport system! This is the NS life that i've always been dreaming of!

Had an awesome weekend. Spent Saturday with Team C.E.A and i met up with Puteri for a workout earlier on. Had a great time killing our quads on those mean machines! Thanks for the company, Puteri!

POP-oh!

The day we have all been anticipating since enlistment finally came! Parents, friends and loved ones flooded the grandstand of the Home Team Academy's Unity Square on that wonderful evening of 24th May 2010. It marked the completion of the course for the Officer Cadets, Senior Officer Course, Regular Officers and 138th Intake of Police National Service Officers.

End of Basic Police Training, here comes another phase in my NS life with the cops. The memories of BPT, good and bad times i had and the things i have learned shall live with me. However, the past four months in Training Command wouldn't have been so fruitful without my awesome squad!. Thank you, NS01! Separate ways for us now. Some to NPCs, some to TRANSCOM, some to Coast Guard and some to Airport. Nonetheless, we shall always live with the Squad 1 spirit!

and oh, if you're wondering where I'm being posted to, the answer is Transport Security Command (TRANSCOM) a.k.a Police MRT Unit!

Talk about Basic Training - SAF, SPF and SCDF, everyone in the service knows that the people in SPF spend the longest time as recruits. Yea, it may not be as physically demanding as the field camps in SAF or the fire-fighting and rescue training in SCDF. However, spending sixteen weeks as recruits - having to endure the physical training and not forgetting the infamous law books, gets you mentally drained.

Two more days before my buddies and I part to our different divisions. I'm having mixed feelings about passing out. Happy to have gotten the trainee life over and done with, sad to leave my squadmates. Nonetheless, we have to move on, to our next phase of NS life, serving as full-fledged NS Police Officers.

Another awesome Saturday night with Zara :) Thanks for spending time with me despite the long and tiring NDP training you had!

P.S: The term "POP-oh" has become more like a season's greeting!

The merry month of May

Greetings to all!

Here i am, nine days away from POP-oh! Meanwhile, i'm embracing every moment i have left as a trainee in TRACOM. The parade will be held on Monday (don't ask me why), 24th May 2010 at Home Team Academy. Those who are free, do come down and give your support to the 138th intake of Basic Police Training! I've always looked forward to this day since i enlisted in february.

15 weeks of training, 8kg lost. It's time to re-construct right after i pass out. On a happier note, this is probably the best weekend i've had since enlistment. Thanks for the jokes, laughter, smiles, photos, dinner and most importantly, your company, Zara :)

Team Champion-Engineered Athletes or C.E.A in short, was being formed by a group of bodybuilders who met each other at different competitions. No doubt, some of us were ex-competitors turned friends. Like any other teams of bodybuilding and fitness enthusiasts in Singapore, our team aims at promoting the sport and sharing knowledge, ideas and any other new discoveries in training, diet, supplementation and contest preparation. Apart from training, we have weekly recreational and social activities.

National Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2010

Held in a not-so-good Kreta Ayer People's Theatre (Victoria's under renovation) but with a really good response of 90 contestants. Awesome show with lots of breathtaking moments! We had a World Class Guest-Poser after so long! Enjoy the photos!

Guiding them for the competition definitely brought back the fond memories of competing. My dirty hands and 12 hours in the theatre did not go to waste!

As i was appointed the Cadet Wing Commander for the 2nd day of the 53rd Cadet Lieutenant Course, i was told to work hand-in-hand with a trainee named Maisarah, who was then appointed the Cadet Wing Sergeant Major. I stepped out nervously, hoping that Maisarah would be someone whom i can work with.

The first handshake was a trainee-to-trainee gesture, introducing ourselves and discussing on our roles and responsibilities in maintaining the order of the course. We then started to move the course from the company line to the mess of HQ NCC, Amoy Quee Camp for breakfast. When i first heard Maisarah shouting out commands, i knew she was outstanding - full of confidence, leadership, gusto and zeal.

We worked together again during the 2nd week of the course, when the instructors wanted to evaluate our performance to select the best trainees. That was when we started sharing more of our personal lives - our interests, family and educational backgrounds, etc. After a few interviews and evaluations, the commandant announced that we were the top two trainees in the course. Mai was presented with the Distinguished Honour Graduand award and myself, the Distinguished Graduand award. She gave her valedictory speech and it was followed by the donning of ranks - probably the proudest moments in our lives.

We kept in contact after the course and she came, for the first time, to one of my bodybuilding competitions - National Juniors 2007, where i was defeated with a horrible 5th placing. I remembered her saying "You're a winner to me, really". At that point of time, i promised her to do better and win something the following year, which i really did in National Juniors 2008.

By now, you should be asking, how did we get so close? Honestly, we both do not know it either. Some even thought that we were a couple when they saw us outside. Nature took its course. We met, we became friends, and then close friends. God is great, it was HIM who brought us together into this beautiful friendship, which has lasted three years as of today. Mai has been there for me through thick and thin, accepting me for who i really am despite all my flaws. She never fails to give me moral and emotional support in whatever i'm doing.

...In good times and bad times, i'll be on your side forever more...

Yet another boring weekend.

Time is so precious during BPT, isn't it? With just 48 hours of civilian life a week, you definitely want to utilize every single moment you have. However, i can't believe that my weekend has passed just like that. I guess the only productive things i did was to hit the gym and visiting my grandparents.

My final IPPT is finally over and surprisingly, i attained a silver with 5 points for all stations except for the 2.4km run. 10 weeks of training to go before i can shout out POP-oh! I'll be booking in for week 7 later on. Hopefully this week would turn out well. Doctor gave me 2 weeks of light duty (what the hell, haha) for my injured shin and ankle.

I somehow feel that NS does keep my mind off things. I just need to do what i'm told, that's it. Maybe it's because i don't have a girlfriend? My squadmates who are attached call their partners every damn night! Oh yea, speaking of girlfriend, i don't see myself getting attached anytime soon anyway. I'm happier and better off being on my own, even though i do.. err.... admire someone! ;)

"When you're older, you will understand". Have you heard of this line? I finally understand... Why my parents stopped me from being in a relationship when i was younger.. Why my parents bugged me to mug hard.. Why my parents didn't allow me to work night shifts.. Why Why Why... I have the answers now. As i grow older and mature, i realised that many things i did in the past were so redundant and foolish. I realised that following my emotions isn't always the way to do things. I realised that i have to use my mind and not always follow my heart.

Life in the Academy

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14th 2010

I finally had my long-awaited book out on Friday after 11 days of confinement. Basic Police Training has been fine so far. Everything seems to be falling in place and i have more or less settled down in this regimental lifestyle - having only 48 hours of civilian life every week, holding a blue I/C instead of the pink one and of course, the jarhead hairstyle. I am utitilising every single minute i have in this long weekend before getting back to camp come Tuesday. Two weeks down, eleven more to go.

On a happier note, Happy Valentine's Day and have a prosperous Lunar New Year!

The most anticipated tertiary bodybuilding event every year, was held for the 17th time at the NUS Multi-purpose sports hall - away from the glaring sun at the Vivocity Amphitheatre the previous two years. A decent location, air-conditioned and some not-so-comfortable seats. Nonetheless, the event saw lots of new blood, like it always did.

Having competed at the same show last year, i spent my time this year guiding my best friend for his entire preparatory phase - diet, training, supplementation, posing choreography and presentation and oiling. Congratulations, Fazul Idham! A well-deserved 5th Place for his very first competition. Strive harder for National Juniors come April!

I'm four days away from enlistment and yesterday, finally, was my last official day of work at Energy One gym. There are so many things i have to settle within the next four days - PT sessions to be cleared, bag not packed, bank book and certs have to be zapped, miscellaneous stuff to be bought, catching up with people. I need a break!

Relaxation - that's all i need. Away from the big weights in the gym, away from work, away from everything. I just wanna spend time with my loved ones and slack away my last few days as a civilian before i start wearing blue.

I remember the days in the secondary school classroom when Azri and myself would sit and talk about our sports. From a National Silat athlete with a World Junior Champion title to a MODEL, what a transformation! The Teens Model Search scouted for young, aspiring models-to-be. It was nice seeing young talents in action and Azri definitely did a great job!

Over the past few days, i reminisced about the past decade and asked myself "where did all the time go?". It's just amazing how much has changed over the past ten years. Physical, mental, emotional and environmental changes too. Time does heal emotional wounds. Like Leona Lewis said "I'm gonna smile cos i deserve to... It will all get better in time". The number of people i've met and those who have left - those who changed my life till today, those who were just there to fill spaces, those who inspired me, those who were called upon by Lord. Adaptation to changes, it has become a norm.

2009. Another passing year. I can either call it the best or the worst. Welcome, 2010! May the year be as beautiful as a rainbow :)

I finally hit the weights and the cardio machine(bleagh) after 5 straight days of junking, both at KL and the gatherings i've been attending over the past one week. Over-indulgence on junkstuff has definitely taken its toll on my the way i look! Shut up Shahid!

Oh.. what away to end 2009. Last year i was dieting real hard at this period, in the midst of preparing for the Muscle War and Muscle Explosion. This year, i'm drowning in junk! Nonetheless, i'm gonna make full use of the upcoming four weeks prior to enlistment to get my fitness level back up! On a happier note, farewell fucking 2009!

Christmas, like the previous years, was spent at the Dorai Brothers' place - awesome food, company, laughters, games, socialising, sharing sessions and exchanging of ideas till late - special thanks to the hosts, Christopher and Clarence! I sure did have hell of a great time! The word "boring" is definitely out of our dictionary at every gathering!

Road to Certification

The course has ended but i'm still in FISAF mode. Yes the 7-day PT course felt like eternity and the uphill walks to the Ngee Ann Alumni Clubhouse felt so dreadful at the initial part. Nonetheless, it was a great learning experience! I'm gonna miss my classmates, the trainers, eating at SIM Megabites, the jokes, the activities, everything! Theory exam is done, all i need is a P to the A to the S to the S and i can say "Practical, here i come!".

The november rain has definitely affected many of us. It has been raining E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y! Thanks to the flooded road, i took my shoes off at the bus stop (knowing that they're gonna be wet if i don't) and made my way to my workplace BAREFOOTED! So unglam, but who cares? I don't wanna spend the next few hours at work with wet shoes! Even a large umbrella isn't sufficient to keep myself sheltered from the bus stop to my workplace which is like less than 100 metres away. To add on to this, the aircon in the gym isn't helping at all!

Talk about the past two seasons of Singapore Idol. No one has ever caught my attention like Sylvia Ratonel. Sylvia is definitely outstanding - the ability to present herself, full of emotions, being able to hit those high notes well, her style and many other countless values that the rest do not possess.

HUMILITY is her biggest asset - it's what i have always been looking for in an artiste. This value is what makes her clearly stand out from the rest. Unlike many other artistes, Sylvia is nice to her fans. And i really mean, nice. She practices what she preaches, doing her best to reply to e-mails and facebook comments posted by her fans.

Every time i see Sylvia on the Idol show, i won't hesitate to pick up my mobile phone and vote. Trust me, i have never voted for anyone in the past two Idol shows. All my idols have been great bodybuilders so far, never have i idolised a singer this much.

I shall describe Sylvia with the magic word - BEAUTIFUL. It was no surprise that she made it to the top four, knowing that she's definitely a top three material (what the hell, she's gonna be the next SINGAPORE IDOL!).Let's all continue voting for Sylvia! She's the best!

Happy 20th (bleagh!) to MYSELF...

The photo above was taken in Movie World, Brisbane, Australia. It was 2 weeks after my 4th birthday. I can still clearly remember that very moment when Bugs grabbed me, and the sight of my dad rushing to snap the photo before i ran away from him. Not all of us have a privileged childhood. Nonetheless, the older we grow, the more we'll miss our younger days. If i could turn back time, i don't even wanna be a teen. I would wanna go back to being a toddler.

I'm feeling rather old today, the number ONE-NINE has turned to TWO-ZERO = a new phase in life. I'm no longer a teenager now. It's time to see things from a different light. I'm gonna leave behind as many flaws and unpleasant times that i faced in my 20th year to strive for the better things that are to come in my 21st year.

Plans get screwed. Things don't always go the way we want them to be. As the saying goes "Life is hard. It chews you up and spits you out. It even shits on you for good measure". Yet, we have live it to the fullest, no matter where it takes us to.

So i finally said "hi" to the gym after two months of on-off training. A splendid legs workout with Fazul at Sengkang earlier on. Man! I felt giddy halfway through the workout! Looking at my physique, it made me feel like crap. I miss the way i used to look like. I miss the way i used to train...so hard. I miss standing onstage. I miss everything and it's time... to pick myself up!

Another pretty occupied yet not-so-busy week awaits me. Hopefully everything goes on smoothly, as i have planned. Things have been rather satisfactory for me. I'm currently freelancing - doing PT, here and there since i left Fitness First. I can't wait to get enlisted and see where it gets me to, then and after. I'm full of plans, as usual, for what i'm gonna do after the ANNE ASS! I hope i can shoulder the crushing burden of my expectations, Insya Allah :)

I finally said goodbye to Fitness First, after seven fruitful months. Fitness First AMK has definitely been the best place i've ever worked at. I've matured, learned and grown tremendously since i first stepped into the club. I left the club and my awesome colleagues, but bringing along the knowledge, skills, friendship and memories. Thanks to all who have been there for me all this while. My working experience wouldn't have been so wonderful without you guys around.

Here i am, having 6 working days left at Fitness First. I'm leaving the company to strive for higher planes. I may come back to work there in time to come, probably after my ORD in 2012. My future plans are more or less there, i just have little to say for now.

Gonna lose my hair and transform into a man in blue come February. While so many of my peers dread their enlistment, i'm sooooo looking forward to it! Even though i was being brought up as an NCC cadet, i've always wanted to go to the Police Force to try something new. Dream come true!

Doomsday - an event with an exceptionally destructive effect on the human race.

2012 - is it really the end? Did doomsayers really predict the end of the world to be in 2012? With the occurance of multiple natural disasters like the recent flood in the Philippines, tsunami that hit Samoa, quakes that hit Sumatra and the South Pacific, do they really foresee the end of the world to be that soon? Are these the after-effects and reaction of mother Earth after being harmed by the human race for decades?

I suppose almost every faith and religion believes in the event of doomsday. There have been multiple imageries of doomsday and the events leading to it, like the movie Armageddon and Doomsday. Nonetheless, i really hope that the world won't end that soon.

Definitely have to catch this movie next month!

I went back to work yesterday, for good. I somehow feel that the longer i stay at home, the sicker i'll get. It was really good to see my colleagues again. The pain still persists and i've been popping painkillers(the only thing they prescribed me) like candyyyyyyyyy. My appetite's a bitch, hardly eat anything now. It's seriously VERY IRRITATING, the pain comes at least twice in an hour!

Oh, did i mention that they only diagnosed me with chest pains? I'll be going back for follow up this coming friday. At the rate i'm going, i think my other organs like my liver and lungs need more attention. I hope i won't get admitted again. Oh, those irritating wires and sounds coming from all the different machines, not forgetting the pokings, not again! There's a long long list of things that i wanna do in November!

Just got discharged yesterday morning and i felt restless after a short nap. Yea, i have 5 days of MC and i wanted to go back to work today BUT my whole family was against it(duh!). I invited my friends over, namely Mai, Is and the band clique so as to keep myself occupied. It was really good to have my friends here, it did help me to ease the pain :)

After entertaining my guests, my family and i went to visit a family friend's house till late night. 8 years and counting :D

I'll be expecting some guests today. Thank God there're people coming over, at least it'll kill my boredom. The pain has subsided a little, i'm still on medication and it makes me zzzzzzzzz.......

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2009

SO DRAMA!

So yeah, here i am, back at home after all that happened yesterday. Like any typical outing, Mai and I lunched at Marina Square Pizza Hut and we made our way to the Esplanade to sit around. It was then when i felt severe pain in my chest. I couldn't take the pain and i told her to call the ambulance. People watched as i laid on the ground, with my head resting on Mai. I was really lucky to have Mai around. Medics took me to the aye and eee and the waiting time drove me nuuuttttttssssss!

They took some blood for testing and did a chest x-ray on me. Gave me some oral medication and a shot of painkiller in my arse. Thankfully, it was nothing to do with the heart. Spent the rest of the night at the boring observation ward and i finally got discharged this morning. The chest pains may have been caused by elevated stress levels (considering the depression i've been going through), over-exertion and lack of rest. Doc gave me some strong medication and 5 days of MC.

I should be back at work by monday. No worries guys, i'm still alive and breathing!

PS: Thanks for everything Mai. Thanks for staying by my side, following me to the hospital, calling up my loves ones, taking care of my belongings and most importantly, being so concerned :)

Never been a fan of horror. However, this, i shall say, is one of the horror shows i've really enjoyed. A collection of 5 horror stories namely Novice, Ward, Backpackers, Salvage and In the End, this show is good a blend of horror and comedy. Thumbs up! Worth watching!

Headed to Pasir Ris after watching the movie with Is yesterday. Sat by the beach and thanks to her who gave me ideas, we stopped by Arnold's for dinner! Yea, that irresistable fried chicken was my last meal for the day and it really gave me a good buuuurrrrrrrrrpppp! Had a really good time with our crazy jokes(excuse us, we haven't met for rather long!).

October is here. I somehow want this month to pass quickly because November is gonna be a busy yet enjoyable month for me, Insya-Allah, if everything goes well as i have planned. Since October is a quiet month, i shall make full use of it to prepare for all the activities in November.

It's my off day and there's really nothing much to do. Parents are working, sis is busy mugging, grandparents are out visiting. Me? I just got up and i'm waiting for the live webcast of Mr Olympia, which is pretty much anticipated by bodybuilding fans all over the world. After which, i'll be meeting Halif for lunch and i'll probably meet up with Kak Ina and Kak Inda at their place this evening.

The first day of Raya went really well. Everything fell in place. Visited a total of 6 houses and i immediately rushed for bed when i got back (excuse me, i slept at 4am the night before!). No more visiting from the second day onwards, partly because i had to be back at work, and i also wanted to resume my training badly. I've ceased the indulgence on Hari Raya food and pastries since the second day, knowing that it'll make me FAT and sick.

I've been feeling really empty. Memories came flashing back to my mind really drastically. Sweet ones, of course. Looking at the photos we took, i really miss her and the good times we had together.

The dark horses of the local bodybuilding fraternity final showed up at the National Championships! I shall say, this is a mix bag. Some new faces who won the first time round, some old-timers like Augustine Lee and Vincent Ng, and also some who came back after stepping down. This show was probably the longest national championship that i witnessed. It commenced at 2pm and ended at 9pm!

The show was kick-started by the presentation of awards to recognise the hard work, sweat and blood of the bodybuilding veterans. A few significant ones i remembered were Mr Pang Lai Seng, who clinched a 4th placing at the 1974 Mr Universe and Mr Rohmad Juraimi, multiple time SEA Games and Asian Champion in the 1970s.

It may be a blend of boredom and interesting stuff when you are volunteering backstage. The boring part is that you only get to watch the show through the small pathetic teevees. The good thing is that you get to take lotsa candid and unseen shots of the local bodybuilding scene!

The Junior Men's below 60kg category was commenced shortly after that. This was a lightly contested category, with three competitors, namely Zen Low, Edwin Thia and Raman Chandran, who have all competed in previous junior nationals. Zen took home the title for the 2nd time since 2007.

The Junior below 70kg category, even though not as heavily contested as previous National Juniors, was the most popular. 5 contestants, namely Max Lin, Tan Chun Leng, Ahmad Zaki, Kennard Tham and Hafiz - have all competed in previous championships. Max Lin went two placings up and took this title which i won last year! A lucky chap with a really good structure - all thanks to his parents for those genetics! Chun Leng stayed in the 2nd placing, and Ahmad Zaki took bronze. Kennard, on the other hand, has lesser control of his diet due to NS, but he came back for his love for this sport.

The Junior categories were wrapped up with the Below 80kg category, with three contestants. Elton Lim and Daryl Linus Lee took the top two. These two guys are familiar faces in the Junior stage and were making a comeback for the final time as juniors.

Now, the Senior Men's! The 60kg fly weight category was a blend of junior, senior and master athletes. Old bird Vincent Ng Han Cheng took the title, with runner-up Tan Chin Boon and Christopher Lau.

Next up was the 65kg bantam weight category. With no surprise, Jonas Asis Tham took home the gold. This Filipino chap is a permanent resident who is rather new in the bodybuilding scene. He placed 2nd in the recent Holland Open Championships. An awesome physique - ultra-low body fat, compact, thick, ripped and symmetrical!

Miss Bodyfitness saw the rise of a new potential in Singapore Women's Bodybuilding - Angelina Tan. This good friend of mine can definitely excel in both women's bodyfitness and bodybuilding, which Singapore is lacking of. She will be representing the country in the South-East Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Pattaya, Thailand come October. All the best girl!

The Men's above 85kg category portrayed the GIANTS of Singapore Bodybuilding. 25-year-old Muhammad Ismail Mahmood - my collegue, mentor and good friend was declared the champion of the GIANTS! This disciplined, determined and committed young man will also be representing the nation in the Asian Championships in Iran come august and SEA Championships in October. He also beat the evergreen Augustine Lee, multiple-time National and Asian Champion, who is 30years older than him!

Been thinking and thinking. Too much i guess.
I haven't been sleeping well. Although i know what my plans are gonna be like if i don't make it to poly, i'm still trying to appeal for an admission. I was further pissed off when i noticed that i'm losing out on my CCA points. Yes, all my achievements, sports volunteerism and those shit were not reflected in my results! I'm calling the student admin tomorrow to clarify. When i found out that my classmates with barely any sports background and whose results are about the same as mine could get in, it added even more oil to the fire.

What's new? Some bad news to begin this post with.
My unsuccessful JPAE application. It's weird how my other friends with the same results as me could make it. Not that i failed any module or what. Thinking of it, i've never failed a single paper, common test, project or module in my entire two years. NEVER.

So here are my plans for now. Speed up all my upcoming health check-ups and get my enlistment date a.s.a.p. Once i've gotten the exact date, i may be taking an international certified personal trainer course (CPT), to add on to my Basic Ex, Fitness Instructor and Sports Management certs. After ORD, i'll be going back to Fitness First to work as a PT, while taking my private dip in sports science. After that i'll see how it goes. Once i've saved enough money, i'll probably go overseas, if everything permits, God-willing.

No matter what, i'll keep on striving to achieve one of my biggest dreams, a Sports Science Degree.

I'm currently working at AMK Hub Fitness First. Work has been really good and it does help me to get my mind off things. The presence of good kakis makes it even better! I'll update the pics in the upcoming posts.

There has been nothing interesting these days. Apart from work and my freelance PT, i'm just staying at home to rest. My emotional health hasn't been very good either. I haven't been having much emotional support these days.

Yesterday was my pretty much anticipated casual date with Olivia, one of my facebook mates. It was really meaningful even though it wasn't anything woo-ha. Just a simple breakfast and movies with her made my day! Thanks for the day Olivia! Keep in touch!

This beautiful lady is Syafiqah, a friend of mine whom i met in National Camp 2004. She migrated to Melbourne about 2 years ago and it was definitely my pleasure to be able to catch up with her when she came back to Singapore for 3 weeks during her summer holidays. She'll be coming back here on the next 2 summer holidays, which is in 22 months time.

In case you're wondering, NO, she's not Malay. She's a mixed blooded - Japanese, Pakistani and a few others which i can't remember. Interesting mix bag isn't it?

Friendships last, they really do. I've never expected myself to meet Syafiqah again after close to 5 years! All the best in your future endeavours, girl!

God gave me some inspirations today. Alhamdulillah, may the praises be to HIM.

After being in competitive bodybuilding for the 4th year now, i think it's time to lay off active competing and pursue other things in life. My WISH LIST! YES!
There's a list of things i'd like to do besides competing now, and it's time i start saving up for them.

I'd like to trek in Nepal, visit the Great Barrier Reef, go to Las Vegas to catch Mr Olympia, visit third world countries, visit countries that i studied in history back in sec 4, join charitable organisations, modelling, acting, theatre, and so many more!

I therefore officially declare myself stepped down from competitive bodybuilding at this moment! I MAY be back. Maybe not.

Besides these, jobs have been looking for me rather than me looking for them. Got an offer at AMK Fitness First as a part time Fitness Instructor. I've gone for the interview last thursday and i'm anxiously waiting for the results. I'll be meeting a new PT client tomorrow. I'll also be posing for MOCCA's roadshow at Marina Square this coming weekend! Thank God for these!

I've got 6 days to my one and only examinable paper - Principles of Marketing. Mug mug mug and i'll be a free man (well not for long, work will start soon after)!

Held for the first time at Siloso Beach, Sentosa, the Sports Management intra-course Volleyball tournament certainly bonded the year 1s and year 2 students, even lecturers! Everyone had fun at the friendly tournament despite having sunburns and bruises at the end of the event.

Starring Daniel Craig as Tuvia Bielski.

The Bielski Brothers, namely Tuvia, Zus and Asael. The movie highlights the Jewish resistance during the German invasion of Poland during World War II. They then formed a Jewish Partisans Army to fight against the Germans to save the innocent lives. They eventually formed a forest camp and formed a community where they worked together in acquiring firearms and food supplies. Tuvia, being the eldest, led the Partisans.

Weapons were either stolen or bribed as the Jews could not buy weapons from the stores. They were then used as a form of resistance towards the Germans. The Bielskis did as much as they could to save lives, according to Tuvia's mission of saving as many Jewish lives as he could from the Germans.

The forest eventually became home for the Partisans for the next two years, even surviving through the harsh, cold winter. The location of the forest camp changed from time to time, so as to move away from German attacks. The forest camp indeed became a meaningful place for most of the members, some whom even found their true love there.

A blend of action, emotions and a little humour.
Definitely worth your money if you love war movies.

I went for x-ray. What a long day.
Queued up at Tampines Polyclinic for an hour before being able to enter the room.
The one who did the x-ray for me was a radiography student from NYP, probably on internship. I was rather impressed with her professionalism in doing her job.

I was then referred back to Bedok Polyclinic for the doctor to interpret the results.
No spinal injury was reported. Just that my spine is slightly inclined to the left, which is not believed to have caused the pain. I'm now referred to SGH Pain Management Specialist. BUT. It will only be in may. If the pain persists, i'll just go to A&E, no choice. For now, i can't resume training anytime soon. Maybe till the pain goes off.

They issued me painkillers, AGAIN. A stronger one now. Why can't the doctor just inject a bloody strong one to stop the pain? I might as well go to the Chinese physician. Cheaper, don't have to wait for so long, and most of the time, more effective.

Thanks to everyone who showed their concern by asking me about my condition. Special thanks to my uncle who took some time off from his off day to accompany me for the x-ray. Thanks for lunch too :)

Bought some nasi briyani at bedok interchange before heading back. The aunty working there asked me to help the other worker carry some heavy stuff. She went like "Boy, can you help that weak guy there carry that heavy thing in?" At that point, i totally put my injury and pain aside and helped, thinking that i should perform some good deeds today. I felt really satisfied. She even gave me some free banana fritters, which i seriously did not expect.

By the way

I saw HER earlier on, while crossing the road near Bedok MRT. Shouted her name 3 times but she didn't respond. She probably couldn't hear me. It was good to see her though, after such a long time. I really miss her. So deeply.

This is bad.

A slight pain on my lower back two week after the championships, i ignored.
Got worse the week after, still ignored.

A few days back, the pain became unbearable. It even hurt when i sleep.
I went to the clinic. Doctor gave me painkillers.
It was a pretty mild one, only paracetamol with some other substance. Didn't work.

Now i feel the pain on my spine. Yes, my spine.
It hurts when i sit down, walk, lie down, or even do anything.
I'll be going for x-ray tomorrow. I hope it's nothing serious.

I have stopped training for close to a month now and the feeling sucks, like totally.

Now, i start to treasure all the photos of myself in my top form.
Especially the ones in the 2008 Men's National Junior and 1st Mr Cairnhill.

I miss this condition.

From Bodybuilding veterans to exco members, coaches, affiliates and athletes - we were all present for the SBBF AGM. Officials and EXCO members were dressed in formal wear. This is a day when you don't see the athletes competing and the judges tabulating scores.

Kick-started with some light refreshments for breakfast reception, the AGM then started to address the minutes of the last meeting and some current issues. Although it was just a short one, it certainly was a memorable meeting, especially having veterans like legendary Datuk Paul Chua, our Honourary Life President who has been in the scene for 29 years and former Mr Asia, Fatholomein Ali gracing the occassion.

The legendary Nor Perwira Jaya Rahmat

Fondly known by many as Wira in short, this bodybuilder has achieved a substantial amount of victories in the sport. In Malay, Wira means Hero. A local bodybuilding Hero that is. Yes, he was arguably the most successful sportsman among his 7 siblings, who are all bodybuilders. Among his achievements are the 1st placings for SouthEast Asian Championships, 1st Singapore Invitational and National Championships. I personally had a chance to watch him in action in 2006. His stage presence and charisma certainly drew the crowd.

So why am i blogging about him? Well, what Wira has achieved is what i actually aspire to be. He's one of my bodybuilding idols on the Singapore stage, apart from my Coach, Mr Azman Abdullah.

Some people have also mentioned that i look like a smaller version of him, especially my structure - from my shoulders, chest, down to the waistline, abdominals and thighs. Wira has never been well-known for his mass but rather aesthetically pleasing physique and graceful posing.

Laugh, laugh, and laugh all your stress away. That's the best remedy. Some people judged this photo as a form of craziness from all the post-competition junking. Well, isn't it how i'm supposed to be after the championships? 4 medals in two months, now it's time for a break, a real break. Neither have i been eating quality food nor getting proper training and supplementation since the competitions. My busy schedule has taken its toll on my bodybuilding lifestyle. However, i'll definitely hit the gym again next week, after all the sinful junking.

No more competitions till God-knows-when. 40 days of school left, excluding weekends, event involvements and study week!

Muscle Explosion II

After the sizzling hot weather at the VIVOCITY amphitheatre, the bodybuilders made their way to NTUC Centre for another show!

Held at NTUC Centre Auditorium for the 2nd time, Muscle Explosion was a pretty well-organised event. Organised by My Saviour's Church and sanctioned by Singapore Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, the event offered attractive cash prizes which drew a number of good bodybuilders to compete.

This was another tough competition, where i competed against people who are way older than me (some are more than 10 years older).

It was also my first M.E and i was satisfied with another SILVER medal for the day. Should i call it a silver day? It was the 2nd time winning 2 medals in a day.

This marks the end of my career as a Junior Bodybuilder. The journey still goes on though. I will keep training to keep fit! For now, it's time to enjoy those rubbish food! I've been junking like nobody's business for the past few days and i've had a rebound of 5kg.

I'm always known for late posts for events like competitions. That's simply because i've missed out a lot on the days approaching the competition and catching up has to take place. So let me begin.

2009 NUS MUSCLE AND FITNESS WAR

Musclemen and fitness enthusiasts of all ages rocked the VIVOCITY amphitheatre on 17th January 2009!

It was my first Muscle War and it certainly was not easy going in as a junior. This was the most heavily contested and toughest competition i've ever participated, i shall say. A 14-competitor line-up for the Tertiary Above 170cm Classic Bodybuilding Category. It was a Classic Bodybuilding event. Therefore, the height and weight of the competitors have to be proportional to appeal to the IFBB rule. I was really satisfied with the results though. I came in 2nd place in, losing to Zhiqi.

I did meet a few of the competitors in the Junior Nationals last month. In my category alone, 4 of the finalists were juniors, some who have improved physiques as compared to last month! Impressive!

However, kelong took place as well.
Firstly some overweight competitors were still allowed into the category. Secondly, some people who DID NOT sign up for the category beforehand were taken in at the last minute. Thirdly, the judging format for Classic Bodybuilding was obviously not right as there were no quarter turns. These issues, i feel, need to be revised to avoid further speculations about the sport.

THE LITTLE NYONYA

This is certainly one of the most meaningful chinese drama series i've ever watched.

Starring the gorgeous Jeanette Aw as Huang Juxiang and Yue Niang, The Little Nyonya portrays the life of a high-end Peranakan family (the Huangs) in the 1940s. Despite being deaf and mute, Juxiang was certainly a strong lady. Juxiang and her Japanese husband died during World War II and left behind their 8-year-old daughter, Yue Niang, whom inherited most of the values of her mother.

After the war, her maternal relatives (the Huangs) who ran away to England to seek refuge during wartime return home. Living with the Huangs certainly wasn't easy for Yue Niang. She was treated like a maid and was given all sorts of ill-treatment. Seen as a jinx by the Huangs, Yue Niang never wanted to retaliate.

Yue Niang was eventually married off to Liu Yidao, a known butcher who can never part with his knife. Yue Niang refused to consummate the marriage and they were later sworn as siblings. Yue Niang, Liu Yidao and his men started gathering bird's nests and started selling them to make money. The business eventually bloomed. Yue Niang married a foreign lawyer, Paul whom she met in Singapore.

The Huangs eventually fell apart when problems arised.

Yue Niang managed to save the mortgaged house of the Huangs. She then lived in the house with Ah Tao, a former maid of the Huangs. The drama did not really have a happily-ever-after ending like what most people would like to see. I have to give credits to the director for the storyline, especially for the characters. An entertaining and touching drama which certainly gave a clearer picture of the cultures and practices of the Peranakans.

HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE! Fireworks, parties, celebrations, countdowns, and we're finally here - in 2009. As the saying goes, time flies. Sometimes as i sit and reflect, i ask myself "where did 2008 go?". Every brand new year comes with new year resolutions, for sure! Here are my resolutions for 2009:

• To be a better Muslim, son, grandson, brother, friend and athlete
• To achieve a GPA of 3.5!
• To be more determined and train through the excruciating pain
• To bulk up to 85kg at 10-12% bodyfat (one of the most difficult)
• To compete in Asian Junior Quadrangular Championships if time permits
• To take up courses by International Sports Science Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association.
• To make my NAME CARD with my photo in front!

It feels terrible having to diet throughout this festive season - more specifically, the holidays. 24 days to Muscle War and Muscle Explosion. There's actually more pressure being put on me this time round. I have to make sure that my bodyfat percentage goes lower than it was during the Nationals.

After these two competitions, i believe that i should take a break, a real break in fact, from the hard trainings and dieting. I'll probably be watching movies, enjoying good food and stuff like that.

It makes me love and treasure this sport even more, looking at how far it has brought me to -
3 Bodybuilding Titles, 2 of which are National titles.

2008 Men's National Junior and 1st Mr Cairnhill Bodybuilding Championships

The event took place at Cairnhill CC, which explains why the Classic Bodybuilding event was named Mr Cairnhill. And if you're wondering who that Mr Cairnhill is, IT'S ME! It was certainly the best day in my life. I won TWO titles on the same day - National Junior Light Weight Champion and 1st Mr Cairnhill!

The event started off with the pre-judging of the 5 categories. The event hall started to be filled up only during the finals though. However, this event, i shall say, is one of the biggest Junior Championships ever held. Reputable sponsors like Nutritionpark and M.E Nutritions set up their booths outside the event hall. The presence of Miss Indranee Rajah certainly graced the event, especially when she crowned the FIRST EVER MR CAIRNHILL(myself).

This event marks the rise of a number of new blood in the National Junior stage of Singapore Bodybuilding. A large number of debutants appeared, some with really impressive physiques!

Life is lonely when you are a video cameraman - committed never to be seen or heard - the health officials need to check them all for potential depression. The runner-up (sorry, I know his face but I don’t have his name yet) was a veteran of local clubs bodybuilding and he cut a respectable figure but Farhan packed more fire and fight on that Saturday. It is difficult to begrudge Farhan his win just because of the controversial figure that he cuts (I suspect some people just hates his guts and the way he just “let-go” on stage) - this guy has consistently entered for every National Juniors since I first covered the event in 2006 and he goes for broke each time - mentally, emotionally and probably physically as well. One more credit to Farhan - he has the best choreographed and artistically executed and interpreted posing routine of the entire competition. It was fluid, smooth and confidently executed - and that I believe is one dimension of the art to be mastered in bodybuilding. A commanding stage presence."

Some new changes this year.

Firstly, is my epitomy. It's new and improved! New definitions, new cuts. Improved muscularity!
Secondly, i won't be wearing my usual black trunks. This year's would be red!
Thirdly, NO HARI RAYA HAJI FOR ME THIS YEAR! Every year, without fail, i will help out at the mosque. Apart from the satisfaction i gain from volunteerism, the taste of the fresh mutton is always the best!! No mutton curry this year though :(

I believe that this sport is all about sacrifice. Yes. I bet it will be worthwhile. Of course, i compete to win. But if i cannot win, then let me brave in the attempt! I'll surely give my best! Even if i don't win, i know that this is the best condition i've ever achieved.

It has been rather long since i last updated. Here's current condition @ 72kg. It's week 8 now and i've lost a total of 10kg! woot!

Coach Azman instilled a lot of values in me. Apart from giving me knowledge about bodybuilding and training principles, he is really inspiring. His success stories surely serve as motivation for me to strive on.

There hasn't been interesting lately. I'm saying goodbye to school after all the tests and project presentations are done. It's all about this contest then. Time to focus!!

This is what i'm gonna have for break diet! An improved version of Big Mac and Mcspicy. 29 days to go and i'll be stuffing my face with these! On top of that, granny is cooking for me on that very night! Oh man this would make me look forward to D-Day even more!

Training is has been really tough. Carb depletion makes it a lot tougher but i do see my changes in my epitomy. All i need now is a strong mind to go through the next 29 gruelling, torturous days before it will all over.

I haven't mentioned about my NS Medical Check-up @ CMPB have i? I got a PES D, which is a pending status. I have to attend another check up at NUH come december. And let me make this clear, i did NOT chaokeng. The check-up started with the blood test which is feared by many (i don't see the need to fear it). They drew 10ml of blood. Next up was eye test, then hearing, dental, x-ray, and finally ECG and BP. Oh ya, not to forget that IQ test which i only did 10 questions properly!! The whole process took about 3 hours.

Nothing interesting at the moment. Meanwhile, i'm just gonna stay focused on my goal.

Current mood: Dreaded

Countdown: 35 days to go

It's coming to the end of week 5! woohoo! I always look forward to the end of each week on this pre-contest period. 5 weeks to go. The final month usually passes like nobody's business. Oh man, i wanna get this shit over and done with.

I've lost a total of 7kg over the past 5 weeks! Don't ask me how, because i bet you can't do it unless you're a disciplined bodybuilder. The whole process can shut you out from the outside world, drive you nuts, give you mood swings and make you isolate yourself like you're living in a dark hole alone. Yes, that's what i do.

I know i haven't been myself lately. Isolating myself from friends, skipping classes, coming to school with a sad face and many more. This happens only once a year - when i compete. After that, i'll be my usual self. You'll see me laughing, eating chicken cutlet with friends, being cheerful and jovial! Just that in this pre-contest season my energy levels are low. People often say "It can't be that difficult". Yes, why don't you try it yourself then? Living without your daily staples like rice for over 2 months? Sounds easy? Try it then. Only a bodybuilder would understand what another bodybuilder is going through.

What's so special about this month? The quadruple ONE!
Yeah, i'm turning 19 in ten days time. Oh man. NINE-TEEN?

The first five days of October was certainly filled with joy. Raya celebration, what else can it be? Hell only began on the 6th day, when i started the contest prep.

Speaking about contest prep, I'm currently 42 days away. Phew. My condition has to be 80% ready in 12 days! Jiayou to myself!

Mood swings

Animal: A hardcore, no-holds-barred bodybuilder. One who is supremely driven, focused and dedicated. The epitomy of what a bodybuilder is all about... Why you're here.

It has been a norm for me to have mood swings when i'm on this kinda heavy diet. It is often made worse by the gruelling trainings.

People usually find it really hard to understand. 90% of the people i know can't believe the dedication and devotion to this beautiful sport. They think that bodybuilding is just about eating their typical nasi lemak and chiken rice, pump those iron in the gym, slip into your banana hammock and pose like some dumbass on the stage. Oh yea, if it was that easy, we'll have battalions of musclemen!

No one likes to go on diet but EVERYONE wants to look good. This is one of the many sacrifices i'm willing to make, which, certainly, sets me apart from many others.

This is the road that i've chosen and i've never regretted ever since i started. I started from scratch too. A skinny young kid to a bodybuilder. I did not transform overnight. Everything i have, i busted my ass for, over time. This sport is an intrinsic motivation for me. It is probably the toughest thing i've ever tried. Every microscopic mistake you make can mean damage. DEEPAVALIs have never been this boring for me. My family will usually visit a family friend, every year without fail. Of course, the best part of the day will be the food! Their trademark recipe mutton curry, their yummy fried chicken and many more. Oh how miss those deepa food. Too bad. This year my whole family couldn't make it :(

Hmm..despite all these dieting crap, MAI certainly made my day! I accompanied her to the book fair at EXPO, not exactly to look for books, but for the sake of meeting my cute lil Mai! HAHAHA.

And damn it, my weighing machine is spoilt. Gave me a false alarm that my weight has actually dropped by 5kg :S

The week has been pretty tough for me. It's the 4th day of the pre-contest season.

Coach Azman's training is probably the toughest i've tried since my first day in bodybuilding. Diet is still the worst part though. Every day in the gym is a torture session. When i asked him why he's torturing me now and not do it progressively, he answered: "I want you to get used to it. Full stop." For the next 10 weeks or more(if i'm competing in Muscle Explosion and Muscle War in January '09) I'll be training SIX days a week! Damn! And Sundays are not rest days. It's for me to sun tan and do my cardio.

Well..
I know all these are for my own good.
I know i'm gonna thank Coach for all the torture sessions when i win.
I know i'm gonna improve only through hardship.
I know that pain is weakness leaving my body and i have to embrace it!

Her: It's okay. Her number is ___________ drop her a message and tell her that i'm going straight to work.
Me: Mmm, okay. Sure. Your name is?

Me: Okay, i'll do so
Her: Are you a student?
Me: Yeah, i am :D

Me: Sports Management
Her: Yea i can see that. Take good care of your health, you're still young and fit. Pray hard, insya-Allah you'll succeed. All the best.
Me: Thank you (smiled and walked away)

I've never been awake for this long. ALMOST 24 HOURS, BELIEVE IT OR NOT?

I woke up at 2pm yesterday. Went to the gym at 4 and ended workout at 6. Made my way back with coach and broke fast at home. I met Halik for supper and got back at midnight and I'VE BEEN AWAKE SINCE THEN! Damn. I just can't fucking sleep!

I've ceased training since i fell sick like, 2 weeks ago. After a total of 1 1/2 weeks of lay off, i FINALLY resumed training on monday. Felt really week, maybe it's the fasting. I had to energy for all those giant sets that coach told me to do. Heading for the gym tonight! woohoo!

I feel really sucky now. Nationals is on December 13th, i'm 8-10kg heavier than contest weight, and i can't be bothered to diet now. Contest training begins on 2nd day of raya. I wonder how am i gonna fix my condition. Damn.

This was my condition days before the fasting month started.

No matter what, i'm so gonna bust my ass for the top 3 this december!

It was certainly a good experience for me yesterday, when i posed for as MOCCA bodybuilder at a mediacorp event. It made me realise how far bodybuilding has gotten me to. Back then, when i was skinny, never did i want to put on trunks. Now, i walk around with it, giving out MOCCA landyards and relating to people! With that dream tan on, i caught the attention of many cameras when the spotlights shone on me.

The pay is good (like duh) and i met many people, including one who offers me a bridal shoot job in early october :D woohoo!

NCC Day Dinner was great! Certainly a woo-ha event graced by Minister of Defence, Mr Teo Chee Hean as the Guest-of-Honour. It was our one-year-one-time out-of-uniform event.

As usual, the event began with the legendary NCC Song, We Are Ready. Tell me which NCC event won't begin with that song?

Everyone dressed up in formal. Including the warrant officers, SAF personnel and NSFs. The ballroom was filled good looking people! Yes. There were pretty girls EVERYWHERE! I took a few photos with em too!
